PC Building Overview

Building a Custom PC, is both an enjoyable and stressful event. You get joy out of knowing that you just custom built your very own PC game machine. The stressful part is having to order and pay for the stuff, and then either wait for it to arrive or drive to the store to get it. Of course, there is also the added stress of searching for the right part, or the right price and then when you finally get, wondering if you got the right item and got a good deal on it.

Our goal is to help relieve some of the stress you face when deciding whether to custom build that new gaming machine or buy a "brand machine". Buy browsing through our site, you will be able to get a feel for what a good game machine will need, and what the average prices for the components are.

While we cannot guarantee your total satisfaction, we can help you select hardware that will meet the standards required by today's games.

Also, under every category we will list both expensive and inexpensive parts. This is so we can help those who want low budget quality parts and those who want the best one available.

Now, on to some basic questions.

1. How much will it cost me to custom build a game machine?

Answer: It varies, depending on what you buy, how much you spend on it and weather you buy online or in a store. If bought all new everything (case, hardware, monitor, etc), you could easily spend $1000 or more (maybe less) depending on what you buy.

2. Should I buy online or go to a regular retail store?

Answer: For warranty and replacement/ refund reasons, we recommend retail stores. However, if you aren't going to get a warranty and aren't worried about having to return something, then online stores are cheaper. (but charge for shipping)

3. Should I buy warranties for my stuff?

Answer: It's up to you, but I would personally recommend warranties on the expensive stuff like monitors and processors.

4. Is it a good idea to wait for stuff to go on sale?

Answer: Absolutely, if you think it might go on sale, then by all means wait and buy it when it goes on sale.

5. If I can't get everything at once, what order do I buy the parts in?

Answer: That's a personal call, and you should buy whatever you need/ want the most first, then the other stuff later. Or just upgrade the weakest part of your computer first.
